Swimmers – it’s almost time to make yourself ‘financial’ for the upcoming swimming year

As you’ll be aware, swimming membership in New Zealand runs from 1 July to 30 June, and all our swimmers are required to pay their affiliation fees to Swimming New Zealand and Swimming Waikato AFTER 1 July 2018 to enable them to continue swimming.

Just to confirm, the affiliation fees for the upcoming year (1 July 2018 to 30 June 2019) are –

Competitive Swimmer –
$53.50 – SNZ affiliation fee (increase from $52.50)
$  5.50 – SNZ awards levy (unchanged)
$  1.00 – SNZ Swimmers Trust Levy
$34.00 – SW affiliation fee (unchanged)
$94.00

Club Swimmer –
$15.25 – SNZ affiliation fee (increase from $15.00)
$20.00 – SW affiliation fee (unchanged)
$35.25

Learn to Swim / Recreational –
$  3.50 – SW affiliation fee

Please note that going forward, all our Competitive and Club swimmers must pay their affiliation fee at the time they make themselves a ‘financial’ swimmer in the database.  The database allows swimmers to change their status to ‘financial’ and not pay the affiliation fee at the same time – it is important that swimmers do NOT select this option.  Fees can be paid online using either a debit or credit card.  If a club carries out this process on behalf of its swimmers, we need the club to use a debit or credit card to complete this transaction.

A COMPETITIVE swimmer is a swimmer who wants to compete at a Waikato Championship Meet, the Zonal Junior Meet or any National meet.

A CLUB swimmers is a swimmer who wants to compete at any other meets on the calendar.

The key things to remember when you update your membership are –

  1. If you are not sure whether you should be affiliating as a Competitive or Club swimmer, please talk to your Coach.  If you start the season as a ‘Club’ swimmer, you are able to change your membership to ‘Competitive’ during the year.
  2. If you’ve forgotten your password,  click on the “forgotten password” link which will prompt you to enter your email address.  Please check their junk mail if you don’t received the password reset email in your usual inbox.
  3. When you are in your ‘My-Page’, just click on the subscriptions button and follow the prompts, ensuring that a payment is made as part of the process!  As a Club or Competitive swimmer, you should be familiar with your my-page as it’s the portal you use when entering swim meets.  This is also a good time to check that your personal detail are correct.

Any questions, please just ask.
