Although we didn’t get to enjoy the previous day’s weather, the rain did little to dampen the spirits for the Waihi leg of the Deloitte Kick Start Technique Clinics.
There was an incredible turn-out awaiting our Regional Hub Director and St Paul’s Coach, Ross Fisher on arrival, and a warm welcome from the team at Waihi Swimming Club. Prior to the pool session, Ross worked alongside the swimmers as they went through a very animated and fun land warm-up. The animal movement warm-up and challenges certainly brightened up the day and got the swimmers warm and ready to swim.
With the weather clearing and the music playing, the session got underway with some fantastic results. Both Ross and Darren were very impressed to see that many of the key skills from last year’s clinic were not only remembered but being carried out in the pool…Boom!
As always, we went a bit over our scheduled time in the pool but everyone was having fun and learning heaps.
After the pool session, we were treated to a beautiful BBQ lunch courtesy of Waihi Swiming Club, before heading into the classroom for video work and our SUPER AMAZING QUIZ!!!
