Head Coach – Thames Swimming Club (Part-Time)
Location: Thames, Coromandel Peninsula
Start Date: Flexible, from 01 January 2026
Job Type: Part-time
Thames Swimming Club is a community-based, volunteer-run club and is seeking a passionate and motivated Head Coach to lead our swim programme. We cater for swimmers aged 7–18 across junior, development, and competitive squads.
Hours:
- Approximately 13-15 hours per week
- After-school sessions
- Some weekend swim meets (where available)
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading sessions across all levels (Junior to Senior Squad)
- Planning training cycles and swimmer progression
- Supporting swimmers at competitions (local and regional)
- Mentoring assistant coaches and helping upskill volunteers
- Collaborating with the club committee and Swim Waikato
We’re looking for someone with:
- Has swim coaching experience (Learn to Swim and/or competitive)
- Has strong communication and leadership skills
- Holds coaching qualifications or is willing to obtain them
- Brings a positive, supportive coaching style
