Swimming New Zealand is the national organisation leading the strategy for swimming in New Zealand. At its 2019 Annual General Meeting in September, two incumbent board members (one elected and one appointed) will retire by rotation. Due to the maximum term being reached by the elected member, the incumbent will not be seeking re-election. The incumbent appointed member will be seeking re-appointment.
Swimming New Zealand is therefore calling for applications for two vacant board positions from individuals who believe that they have what it takes to be provide collaborative and focussed leadership for the sport of swimming in NZ as a board member of Swimming New Zealand.
Applications are now invited for one elected and one appointed position on the Swimming New Zealand Board, both for three-year terms, to commence from the conclusion of the 2019 Swimming New Zealand AGM, to be held on Sunday 29 September in Auckland.
The Swimming New Zealand Board Appointments Panel will look to combine a strong collective skill-set on the board including governance experience, strategic ability, commercial experience, business skills and relationship management. The board will comprise a good mix of independence and connection to the sport.
If you are motivated to be at the forefront of the growth and development of a cornerstone sport within New Zealand and to further develop a positive culture based on trust, collaboration and disciplined focus we welcome your application for this voluntary position.
