It is with a heavy heart that I must advise our members that Cherie McCleery has made a difficult decision to resign from her position at Swimming Waikato and take up a new opportunity within the Non-for-Profit sector. Since her resignation, Cherie has been working tirelessly with the Board over the past 4 weeks to ensure a seamless transition of duties and the ongoing success of Swimming Waikato. Cherie’s last day will be the 26th July 2019.
Cherie has been with Swimming Waikato for a little over 5 years and within that short time we have seen the vision of the Regional Hub realised; the communications between Swimming Waikato and its members improve; as well as the continual raising of the bar with events delivered. Cherie’s energy and passion for all things swimming has been instrumental in getting Swimming Waikato to where it is today – and on behalf of the Swimming Waikato Board and our members, I would like to thank Cherie for all her efforts during this period and wish her all the best with her new and exciting role.
The Swimming Waikato Board is now in the middle of a robust process of reviewing our admin structure to ensure our delivery programme is fully supported, and to find a suitable replacement for Cherie. You can view the Job Advertisement and Position Description below.
In the mean-time, the on-going delivery of the Swimming Waikato functions continues with Darren Ward leading our Regional Swimming Hub Programme with full support from the Board.
Any questions regarding this communication can be directed to the Board Chairperson.
Kind regards
Sean Lewis
