Swimming Waikato are very pleased to advise that Darren Ward has accepted a new role within Swimming Waikato as our Regional Hub Director, and will oversee the management and delivery side of the Regional Hub.  Darren will be soon be supported by a new finance and administration role which is currently at the shortlisting phase of recruitment, and of course by the army of volunteers and coaches that make up our Regional Swimming Programme.

Darren’s main focus in the short term will be to assist the Board in the recruitment of the new finance and administration role, as well as ensuring we continue to deliver all SW initiatives as per our 2019 calendar. Cherie’s departure is a huge loss but it is Darren and the Board’s aim to build on the legacy she has left and to continue supporting our clubs, coaches, volunteers and swimmers moving forward.
