On Sunday we held our first Kick Start Technique Clinic in Hamilton, the first of two clinics to be held in 2019.

The clinics are designed to bring together swimmers from different clubs in the Waikato and to have them learning together as one. The day had both a pool and classroom component, finishing off with a very competitive and well challenged swimming quiz.

‘I was really pleased with clinic and the standard of swimming that was on show, I thought we had a good group of swimmers and that the technical levels were encouraging. I had lots of fun on the day and I hope the swimmers did also, I can’t wait to go again’ – Regional Hub Director, Darren Ward

Our Regional Hub Director was joined by Ryan Stokes of St Paul’s who was helping out with coaching on deck as well as current Waikato regional Squad swimmer, Sarah Miller who was helping run demonstrations. We would like to thank both Sarah and Ryan for their time and for giving back to our swimming community. Also a huge thank you to the swimmer for turning up with so much energy and enthusiasm, you guys rocked!

The main focus of the clinic was freestyle, turns and starts.

The next clinic will be taking place on the 30th of November in Waihi, to book please contact [email protected]
