Media & Events Intern – Swimming Waikato
Description
Swimming Waikato are looking for a passionate, driven, and social-media savvy individual to join our team until March 2021. This remote internship requires 1-2 full days/week of availability. Please note that this will be an unpaid internship, however, incidentals will be covered.
Role Responsibilities:
- Help to brainstorm, create content and draft copy for posting across social platforms
- Increase club engagement on social media platforms
- Research opportunities to promote Swimming Waikato and member initiatives/ achievements
- Research opportunities to promote both the active and competitive benefits of swimming
- Supporting the planning and operation of events run by Swimming Waikato Competitions
Requirements:
- Must be available min 1 day per week (8 hours)
- Marketing or communications experience is preferred, or a demonstrated interest in social media/marketing
- Self-motivated team player who is eager to learn
- Ability to work independently with passion and energy
- Organizational skills, strong writing ability, and attention to detail
- Excellent knowledge of social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and TikTok
- Proficient skills in Excel, Google Docs, PowerPoint and Adobe Photoshop
- Graphic design and video editing experience a plus
- Previous event planning experience would be valuable
