Once again, Covid has caused some challenges so we have made some adjustments for our upcoming national meets, please see the information below (which is being sent out to the wider community very shortly):

Following Saturday night’s announcement that Auckland has returned to Alert Level 3 and the rest of the country returns to Alert Level 2, we are mindful that many swimmers were aiming to achieve times at competitions held over the weekend or in the following couple of weeks so we have moved quickly to increase the opportunities for swimmers to qualify. We have updated the event information booklets and entry criteria to increase the number of opportunities for swimmers to obtain qualifying times. To summarise, we have:

  • Removed the requirement for times to have been achieved at approved meets. This is similar to what was done for 2020 Short Course, so all results loaded on the SNZ database within the qualification period are eligible to be used.
  • We have shifted the qualification period to start from 1 January 2019 for each of NZ Champs, NAGS and Div II
  • We have extended the qualification period and entry closing date by 2 weeks for NZ Champs to 23 March 2021
  • We have extended the qualification period and entry closing date by 1 week for NAGS to 30 March 2021

Therefore, the new entry dates are as per the following:

2021 Aon New Zealand Swimming Championships

Qualifying Period:            1 January 2019 – 23 March 2021

Entries Close:                     23 March 2021 at 11.59pm
