As part of our commitment to provide organizational support for our clubs and membership, Swimming Waikato is hosting a cluster of online workshop presentations throughout November.

We understand that our members lead busy lives, and dedicating an entire day to development may not be the most convenient option. That’s why these bite-sized sessions offer significant and impactful support for your club.

Best of all, there is no cost involved!

Sunday 19th November, 5pm-6pm
Presenters: Kaye-Marie McCaskill-Day & Vicki Rogers

If you are interested in becoming a recorder or AOD this is an opportunity to learn about these roles, with a practical opportunity to shadow these roles within a meet.
This is also an opportunity for existing recorders to come along and ask any questions they may have. Please note that every club with competitive swimmers should have at least a club recorder.

GOVERNANCE [Club Committee Member Only]
Sunday 19th November, 7pm-8.30pm
Presenter: Roseanne Murray (Community Waikato)

This workshop will provide committee members with a clear understanding of governance responsibilities, including what is required to be effective in leading your organisation.

There will also be a focus on the new legislation and impending changes for Incorporated Societies. Each club should have at least one (can be more) committee member(s) on this call so they can report back to the rest of the committee. With many of your clubs having new presidents and committee members this is a great opportunity to get up to speed on club governance.

FUNDING [Club Committee Member Only]
Monday 20th November, 7pm-8pm
Presenter: Roseanne Murray (Community Waikato)

This workshop will explore alternative income sources, funding application tips and what does good practice financial management of your club look like. This would be a good session for those people in your club, who fundraise and apply for grants etc. and look after the financial health of your club.

Sunday 26th November, 5pm-6pm
Presenters: Stu Woods

Stu will cover the Regional and National pathway of opportunities for a Technical Official and the different roles and qualifications available.
This session is suitable for both Technical Officials wanting to get further information and those people in the swimming community wanting to become a Technical Official.

Sunday 26th November, 7pm-8pm
Presenters: Mat Woofe & Aly Fitch

Learn of the many opportunities within the region for your swimmer. This is a session for parents to learn about the regional pathway for their competitive swimmer.

📅 Registrations close Sunday, November 12. We will then send further information and the Microsoft Teams/Zoom link to those registered.
