Introducing a New Era of Performance Swimming in the Waikato!

We are proud to introduce you to the Regional Performance Centre (RPC) swimming program, based in Hamilton.. The RPC is a collaboration between Swimming Waikato and Hamilton Aquatics, aiming to propel local and national swimmers to international success with focused, athlete-centred training, right here in the Waikato region.

The RPC aims to provide a comprehensive training program that immerses athletes in a daily, athlete-centred environment, offering them access to performance-centric training resources and supporting their professional and personal growth.

“I believe the RPC can illustrate to promising swimmers from Waikato and all-over New Zealand that Hamilton offers an excellent opportunity with the necessary resources and support to achieve their personal swimming and academic ambitions.” Darren Ward, Swimming Waikato CEO

“This is an exciting development for sport in our growing region. We have top notch resources with a world class pool venue and quality coaching, alongside reputable tertiary study and career training institutes, hence it’s time to create greater opportunities for swimming athletes in the Waikato” Janine Broekhuizen, Hamilton Aquatics President

The RPC signifies a dedicated effort to offer young, emerging athletes in New Zealand an option closer to home and family. It aims to become a driving force in local swimming success and contribute to enhancing New Zealand’s reputation in international sports.

“This is a great opportunity for our swimmers to pursue their swimming dreams within the Waikato where they can maximise support throughout the journey. Hamilton can become a national swimming ‘destination’ where swimmers can train as part of a like minded senior squad”. Mat Woofe, Coach
